P6/7 pupils had a great day on Friday at the Fish 2 Dish workshops. We have a very busy week in school this week with Sports Relief, parents afternoon and Batty for Bats. Batty for Bats is part of National Science Week, we are going to be finding out about different species of Scottish bats. In science we have been finding out about how bats use echolocation to communicate, navigate and find their food. We have our last German lesson with Michelle this week as she is heading back to her studies in Germany. Homework for Friday 18th March

There will be no homework next week as we break up on The Fair-Trade day was very good last week. We will be doing some follow-up work on fair-trade crops and causes of hunger this week in class. In reading we are continuing with non-fiction texts in class and fiction novels for home reading. In writing we will be writing dramatic descriptions about an African sunset…and painting sunsets too. In maths this week we are learning how to add and subtract decimals as well as solving time problems. The African masks from milk containers are now ready to paint. P6/7 pupils will be spending a day at the high school on Friday as part of the Fish 2 Dish project. They will be taking part in a variety of fish-themed workshops in preparation for their ‘apprentice-style’ challenge in May.
